Candy Land is a Sativa-dominant strain that was created in the Bay Area of California by crossing a strain of Grand Daddy Purple (also known as Grand Daddy Purps) with a strain of Platinum Cookies. The resulting offspring was called Candy Land. Ken Estes is credited with the invention of this strain due to the fact that he was a member of the team that developed the original Grand Daddy Purple.
The Candy Land strain produces buds that are more compact and dense than those produced by ordinary Sativa plants. Additionally, the green hue of the Candy Land buds is slightly darker than that of standard Sativa plants. When cannabis is produced properly, the trichomes cover the bud in such a dense layer that it appears as though it has been coated in sugar. When viewed from a greater distance, the red hairs are noticeably shorter and duller than they would normally be, giving the buds the appearance of being fuzzy.
When smoked, this strain produces a high that is subdued and earthy, with hints of sweetness and spice in the background. Due to the high proportion of sativa in its effect profile, this is a strain that is most effective for stimulating the mind, with minimum to no effects on the body when used at lower dosages. When the mind is required to be actively engaged, such as in the case of social gatherings or creative endeavors, this strain performs exceptionally well. It is possible for anxiety and paranoia, both of which are common effects of powerful Sativa strains, to set in if an excessive amount of the drug is smoked, particularly by consumers who lack experience. It is recommended that you take a few test puffs before lighting up a complete joint.
Candy Land is one of the Sativa strains that is among the easiest to cultivate when compared to others of its kind. Since it takes around 8 weeks to flower indoors and about 9 months to flower outdoors, you may anticipate a harvest in September regardless of whether or not the plant was grown outdoors. The tall, slender body of the plant begins to buckle under the strain later on in its life cycle, when it is heavy with buds and has been laden down with them. The maximum yield per plant that can be achieved indoors is 2.5 ounces, whereas the maximum yield that can be achieved outdoors is 3 pounds.
Candyland took home the top prize at KushCon 2012 in Denver, which set a new attendance record of 50,000 attendees.
